Asian Member Care Conference: A Special Note from Flo Tan

The 8th AMCN (Asia Member Care Network) Conference in April 2025 is happening, and I am beyond grateful to share this with you. From April 4-7, we will gather for a Pre-Conference Spiritual Retreat at the Stella Maris Center, followed by the main Conference, April 7-11, 2025, at the Cititel Hotel in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia.

How can this even be? The fact that this conference is happening feels like a miracle in itself. For those who attended the 7th AMCN conference in April 2023, you may remember that my husband, David Tan, was very sick. Shortly after the conference, my daughter and I rushed back to Singapore to bring David home. In May 2023, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer, despite being a non-smoker. After an incredibly difficult and courageous nine-month battle, my dear David went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2024.

David’s passing left a deep void in all our hearts. But even in his last months, David’s heart was filled with hope and vision. In fact, just a few months before he passed, David sent an email to Perry Bradford on November 21, 2023, saying, “...I am beginning to dream again this morning…” He was dreaming and planning the 8th AMCN Conference, fully believing he would live to see it happen.

It was during this time of reflection and grief that I felt God stirring something in my heart. The timing of David’s passing, though heartbreaking, aligned with my own personal journey of faith. Back in 1978, I had made a commitment to serve in full-time ministry, and I found myself revisiting that call. God was gently reminding me that, though David’s work on earth was finished, the vision he carried was not.

So here we are—honoring David’s dream, stepping into God’s plan, and moving forward with the 2025 AMCN Conference.

I resigned from my job to follow this call into full-time ministry, beginning with seeing David’s vision for AMCN come to life.
